Who can earn Reward Rands?
Any registered Smallville Comics customer with a completed online order. If you’re not registered yet, create an account here — it’s free.
What counts toward my earn?
Product spend on completed orders, excluding shipping fees. The earn is calculated on the order subtotal after any discounts are applied.
When do my Reward Rands arrive?
Reward Rands are credited when your order status changes to Completed. You’ll receive an email confirmation at the same time.
Can I redeem partial balances?
Yes — you can choose how many Reward Rands to redeem at checkout, as long as the amount is at least R50. Your remaining balance carries over to future orders.
What happens if I return an order?
If a refund is processed on an order you earned rewards on, the corresponding Reward Rands will be reversed from your balance. If you redeemed Reward Rands on an order that is later refunded, those Reward Rands are returned to your account.
When do my Reward Rands expire?
Each earn has a 12-month expiry from the date it was credited. We’ll send you a reminder email when an expiry is approaching so you have time to spend them.
Can I transfer my Reward Rands to someone else?
No — Reward Rands are linked to your account and cannot be transferred, gifted, or combined with another customer’s balance.
Is there a cash-out option?
No. Reward Rands can only be redeemed against purchases on smallvillecomics.co.za and have no cash value.

Terms & Conditions

1. Programme overview

The Smallville Rewards programme (“Programme”) is operated by Smallville Comics (“we”, “us”, “our”) and allows registered customers to earn and redeem Reward Rands on qualifying purchases made at smallvillecomics.co.za.

2. Eligibility

  • Participation is open to registered account holders aged 18 and over.
  • Only one account per person is permitted. Duplicate accounts may be closed and balances forfeited.
  • The Programme is only available for purchases on our online store.

3. Earning Reward Rands

  • Members earn 1% of their qualifying product spend (excluding shipping, taxes, and any previously redeemed Reward Rands) on each completed order.
  • Reward Rands are credited to your account when the order status is marked as Completed.
  • Orders that are cancelled, refunded, or charged back will result in the corresponding Reward Rands being reversed.
  • Earn amounts are calculated in South African Rand (ZAR) and rounded down to the nearest cent.

4. Redeeming Reward Rands

  • A minimum balance of R50.00 is required to redeem Reward Rands at checkout.
  • Reward Rands have a face value of 1:1 against the South African Rand (R1 Reward Rand = R1 discount).
  • Reward Rands cannot be redeemed for cash and have no monetary value outside of the Programme.
  • Reward Rands cannot be used to purchase gift cards or combined with certain promotional discounts. We reserve the right to exclude specific products or promotions from redemption.
  • If an order on which Reward Rands were redeemed is subsequently refunded, the redeemed Reward Rands will be returned to your account.

5. Expiry

  • Each earn of Reward Rands expires 12 months from the date it was credited to your account.
  • We will endeavour to send you a reminder before your balance expires, but it remains your responsibility to redeem your Reward Rands before their expiry date.
  • Expired Reward Rands cannot be reinstated.

6. Account & balance

  • Your Reward Rands balance is visible under My Account → Rewards.
  • Reward Rands are non-transferable and may not be sold, gifted, or assigned to another person.
  • We reserve the right to adjust, suspend, or terminate any account that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, in breach of these terms, or in a manner that is detrimental to the Programme.

7. Programme changes & termination

  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Programme at any time, including changes to earn rates, redemption thresholds, or expiry periods.
  • We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible.
  • In the event of Programme termination, members will be given a reasonable period to redeem any outstanding Reward Rands balance.

8. Liability

  • Reward Rands have no cash value. We accept no liability for any loss arising from the expiry, forfeiture, or inability to redeem Reward Rands.
  • We are not responsible for any technical errors that may affect the crediting or redemption of Reward Rands, provided we take reasonable steps to correct them.

9. Privacy

Participation in the Programme is subject to our Privacy Policy. We use your account data to calculate and display your Reward Rands balance and to send you Programme-related notifications.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from participation in the Programme will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
